Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms has taken to new path on new channel (NDTV Imagine). We havent seen any new serial from Balaji ever since Mahabharat on 9x fizzled out and Star Plus saying ‘enough is enough’ to saas bahu stuff.
NDTV Imagine + Ekta Kapoor + Inspiration from old tradition + Sucess of Balika Vadhu = serial BANDINI. It is tale of a young girl who is forced into a marriage of convenience with an elderly man twice her age. Ummm… something similar is already happening in Balika Vadhu – remember Gehna and his ever so angry age(y) husband?
Anyway, with sort of fresh cast – NDTV Imagine & Ekta seem to have winner. Debutant Aasiya Kazi as the young girl Santu and playing the old man is Balaji’s lover boy man Ronit Roy (finally he plays a character of his age – it was about time Mr Bajaj). Starts on NDTV Imagine from Jan 19, 2009 [Mon - Thurs, 10PM].

Great, as good as real life performances by Ronit and Santo. They, together brought the Mahyavanshi community alive on the screen. Its not just acting its like being one of the characters themselves.
A wellcome break from the boring never ending Saas-bahu dramas.
First time in the history of television, story of a Mahyavanshi family is shown, which is a forgotten community & its glory has being perished in time. Ronit Roy has done a commendable job with his Acting, his looks and the way he displays his character in the serial.
We, till date, have not missed even a single episode of the serial.

Bandini is an excellent story seeing after such a long time. Changed track from Sas Bahu.. Picturization is very good. Really catchy. All the characters are so commanding. Specially Dharamraj Mahiyavnshi (Ronit Roy) and Santu. Thanks EKTA. Want to see some more, on different topics. Actually change is always good.
Well, don’t know about others, but My Mom is the hugest fan of Hiten , Dharamraj Mahyavanshi’s son, his acting is just beyond wordssssssss his anger, the way he depicts, all seem so real, My mom’s developed a liking towards dis serial because of his power-packed performance,

Ronit roy speaks proper gujarati but the word dikra_dikri is not properly pronounced.He should say like how we call Dader in hindi.that way to say dikra_dikri.
